The 2021 growing season began with a dry and cold winter, followed by a spring where temperatures rose rapidly, causing a vigorous growth spurt in the vine leading to successful bud break and flowering. Temperatures throughout the summer months remained moderate although a lack of rain began to manifest as drought which reduced yields. The long, quiet growing season brought the grapes to phenolic maturity, without compromising either aromatics or acidity, and the harvest was largely successful with superb fruit quality. The cooler night temperatures allowed the white grape varieties to play on their more delicate aspects.
